Guests arriving before 6pm Monday to Friday will need to park in the University’s North East Car Park on Pritchatts Road, B15 2SA. This is a Pay and Display car park.
Parking is available around the university campus free of charge after 6pm on weekdays, and all day on weekends. This is accessible via the university’s East Gate, on Edgbaston Park Road.
Approaching from the north west or south east along the M6
Leave at Junction 6 (signposted Birmingham Central) to join the A38 (M).
At the end of the motorway, keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through some underpasses to join the A38 Bristol Road. After two and a half miles, as you approach the university, turn right onto Edgbaston Park Road.
Approaching from the M42 north
Leave at Junction 8 to join the M6 northbound and follow the instructions above.
Approaching from the south west
Leave the M5 at Junction 4 signposted Birmingham SW to join the A38.
The university is approximately eight miles from the motorway.
Approaching from the M40
It is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at Junction 1, heading north on the A38 Bristol Road. The university is approximately eight miles from the motorway.
A high-frequency train service runs from Birmingham New Street direct to University train station, in just six minutes. From here, Lucas House Hotel is a five-minute taxi ride away, or a walk of under 20 minutes.
Birmingham International Airport has its own convenient train station, Birmingham International, which operates a high-frequency service into Birmingham New Street in under 15 minutes. Change here, and follow the rail directions above to University station.
Numbers 61, X62 and 63 travel to the University’s Edgbaston campus. The services all run frequently from the city centre. Online bus timetables are available on the National Express West Midlands website.
There is a travel information office outside Birmingham New Street station, where you can obtain bus timetables and departure point information. Maps can be found throughout the city centre indicating bus stop locations.
